We hereby forward for your information the service information from VDO, according to which in exceptional cases expired Generation 2 company cards

may block the RDL in the tachograph when used for a remote download in vehicles with type 4.0 / 4.0e / 4.0ed DTCOs.

In the event of a blockage, the vehicle must be taken to the workshop for tachograph maintenance. New versions of the DTCO 4.0ff no longer have this error.

VDO therefore strongly recommends the timely replacement of Generation 2 company cards!

We have already minimised the risk in our TACHOfresh solution. In principle, expired company cards do not start a remote download process in our application!

Nevertheless, we consider it important to publicise the VDO information to all customers. Therefore, please also inform all your customers that Generation 2

company cards (issue date from June 2019) will be exchanged in good time before the expiry date.

We would also like to draw your attention to our next maintenance window on 27 May from 20:30. This planned maintenance means a maximum downtime

of 60 minutes during which customers will not be able to log into our portal. We will activate the known maintenance information on 20 May.
