Browser Update Affects Tacholistener Connection
We would like to inform you about an important change that affects the connection between our platform and the local software Tacholistener, which is installed on your customers’ computers to enable communication between the company card reader and the portal.
Recently, Google Chrome and other browser providers introduced updates that change how local connections are handled. With these updates, the setting that allows the browser to communicate with locally installed applications like Tacholistener can now be switched on or off in the browser’s privacy/cookie settings.
Important:
After a browser update, this setting may automatically switch to “offline / disabled”, which prevents the connection between the card reader and our platform. Many customers do not notice this change and may contact support because the card reader suddenly stops working.
We kindly ask you to inform your customers about this change and advise them to check this browser setting after performing any browser update. Ensuring this option remains enabled will prevent connection issues.
